President
Duties:
- The President is accountable to the Board of Trustees as specified by the By-laws, Article V President and Article VI – Executive Committee.
- Assures that the HTWF Board functions according to the by-laws and applicable laws and regulations.
- Leads the organization in accordance with the HTWF Vision and Mission statements and Board decisions.
- The president is one of the two financial and contract signing authorities within HTWF. The other designated signatory is the Treasurer. A third trustee may be designated by the Board as necessary.
- Chairs the Executive Committee, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Generates inspiration to achieve the goals and objectives set by the HTWF Board by delegating, motivating and guiding.
- Oversees all HTWF functions and programs. Oversees office operations and staffing.
- Oversees HTWF financial activities, as executed by the Treasurer.
- Communicates as needed to any external parties.
- Presides at Board meetings, or assigns a designated person to do so if unable to attend.
- Establishes the agenda for all Board meetings.
- Determines the frequency, date and time for Board meetings.
- Oversees recruitment for Board and Committee members and officer continuity planning. Discuss personnel issues with Board quarterly.

- Identifies potential candidates for Board membership and Board positions.
- Determines potential candidate’s interest in joining the HTWF Board.
- Recommends potential candidates to the Board.
- Leads the planning process for the face-to-face Annual Board Meeting and provides updates to the Board throughout the year.
- Actively participates in determining where the Annual Board Meeting is held.
- Oversees all Board positions and committees and assures all are operating according to the responsibilities assigned.
Vice-President
Duties:
- The Vice-President is accountable to the Board ofTrustees as specified by the By-laws, Article V – Vice-president.
- Supports the President to assure that the HTWF Board functions according to the by-laws and applicable laws and regulations.
- Supports the President, as requested.
- Participate in Executive Committee activities, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- When required, assumes the role of the President.
- Supports the President in generating inspiration to achieve the goals and objectives set by the HTWF Board.
- Supports and acts as a visionary to the functioning of HTWF.
- Communicates as needed to any external parties.
- Works with the other members of the Board to ensure the HTWF vision and mission are achieved.
Secretary
Duties:
- The Secretary is accountable to the Board of Directors as specified by the By-laws, Article V – Secretary.
- Supports the President to assure that the HTWF Board functions according to the by-laws and applicable laws and regulations.
- Generates HTWF Board Meeting Minutes.
- Participate in Executive Committee activities, as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Attend all monthly board meetings and executive board meetings, and take minutes. If unable to attend a particular meeting, listen to the recording of the call/or request another Board Member to take minutes.
- Provide a draft of meeting minutes to the President within 1 week of the meeting, make any corrections suggested.
- Distribute revised draft to Board of Trustees prior to next scheduled meeting.
- Read minutes at the next Board meeting for Board approval and make any corrections.
- Forward the approved monthly minutes to HTWF office for official storage.
- Handle other record and communication needs as requested by the President or the Board.
Treasurer
Duties:
- The Treasurer is accountable to the Board of Trustees as specified by the By-laws, Article V Treasurer.
- Supports the President to assure that the HTWF Board functions according to the by-laws and applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Manages all funds, keeping appropriate records and ensures accurate balancing of accounting records.
- Arranges for the transfer of “banking signing authority” whenever necessary.
- Writes all checks. The two signing powers are the Treasurer and the President of the HTWF. Only one signature is required.
- Pays all accounts payable.
- Receives and reconciles monthly bank statements, keeping these records in safe storage.
- Oversees deposits of monies received from all sources.
- Keeps a record of all transactions.
- Arranges for development of and filing of the corporate Income Tax return.
- Provides monthly financial reports for the HTWF Board.
Grant Chairman
Duties:
- Manage all aspects of grants awarded by HTWF.
- Create short- and long-term strategies in grant awarding that further the Foundation’s vision and mission.
- Present strategies to the Board for approval.
- Provide grant information to the HTWF Board and the Marketing Committee.
- Recommend to the Board approval or disapproval of grant requests.
Responsibilities:
- Review all submitted grant applications.
- Notify grant applicants if request is inconsistent with HTWF grant criteria.
- Manage review of research grant applications, and service grants where appropriate, by the Grant Committee.
- Submit recommendations based on review of grant applications that meet HTWF criteria to the HTWF board for approval or disapproval.
- Monitor progress of awarded grants.
- Regularly communicate grant applications received and grant status to the Board and to the Marketing Committee.
- Maintain grant application forms, as necessary.
Scholarship Chairman
Duties:
- Lead the Scholarship Committee.
- Review scholarship applications and, through the scholarship committee, determine award recipients.
- Recommend to the Board needed adjustments in the number of scholarships available.
- Review scholarship applications every three months.
- Identify scholarship candidates that demonstrate the need for assistance, within the limits established by the HTWF Board.
- Determine which applications should be funded.
- Oversee notification of all applicants.
Marketing Chairman
Duties:
- The Marketing Chairman is the interface of HTWF with the Healing Touch community, complimentary organizations and the public.
- Lead the Marketing Committee.
- Market HTWF to the HTWF community and others.
- Raise funds to support HTWF grant activities and operating expenses.
Responsibilities:
- Provide continuity of information of HTWF activities and opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with complimentary organizations.
- Develop, market and publicize HTWF fundraising events.
- Responsible for HTWF communications, including, newsletters, social media, annual reports, and website updates.
Board Member
Duties:
- Board Members are accountable to the Board ofTrustees as specified by the By-laws, Article IV – Trustees.
- Supports the President to assure that the HTWF Board functions according to the by-laws and applicable laws and regulations.
- Supports the Board’s supervisory and fiduciary responsibilities.
Responsibilities:
- Works with other Board members to establish the strategies and tactics needed to ensure the HTWF vision and mission are achieved.
- Considers and votes on HTWF policies, programs, grants and significant expenditures.
- Participates in HTWF activities, as appropriate.
